I can’t believe that I’m already writing my 5 Friday favorites post for November! I feel like this month completely flew by and we’re already busy getting ready for the holiday season. With that, I don’t know about you, but I am so excited for Christmas this year and the brand new decade! But…we can’t forget about the new monthly favorites for this month of November!! My favorites this month include my new boots, the greatest alarm clock ever, my most used on-the-go necessity, a heated car blanket (what?!), and the BEST oat milk creamer!
So with that, let’s dive into them!
1. Metallic high heel fur hiker boots
Oh my gosh, how cute are these boots?! 😍
I recently bought them online at Express and I LOVE them! They are so chic and perfect for dressing up any winter outfit while maintaining warmth, style, and comfort! They’re called the Metallic High Heel Fur Hiker Boots, and I know I will be wearing them to every holiday event (+ shopping!) whenever I get the chance! I paired them with green or black jeans and a white sweater (also from Express) and mauve/beige colored long winter jacket and I’m obsessed! Not to mention, I’ve received TONS of compliments on them as well! 🙌
P.S: They have such a pretty hint of gold sparkle on them too! Perfect for Christmas, social holiday events, walking around the city, and/or New Year’s Eve! 😍
2. Sunrise alarm clock
Those who know me personally know that I recently quit my job of 5 years at my old gym. However, many people don’t know that I am currently a substitute teacher. I’m still deciding if I want to continue my degree for Secondary Education, therefore, I am subbing to 1. Make extra money and 2. See if teaching is an adequate profession for me!
So far I am loving it!! Nonetheless, during the month in between quitting the gym and working as I substitute, I was just working on my blog full time. Therefore, I was waking up in the morning at any time that I wanted to. There were no more 4 am alarm sounds telling me to wake up and get ready to instruct a workout class! And to be honest, I was loving it! It had been 5 years since I didn’t have to wake up at 4 to workout or teach a class!
Now, however, I’m back to waking up early. But I am so happy to be back on a new routine and weekly schedule. It makes me feel 10x more productive throughout the day when I have a set time to wake up in the morning. But what I don’t like is the dreaded sound of my morning alarm. Then again, who does right?!
So, I decided to try out the Sunrise Simulating Alarm Clock instead of my basic iPhone alarm. And oh my gosh I love it!! As many of you probably know, it is very important to remember that when the alarm does go off, you do not want to hit the snooze button! It disrupts your sleep schedule and it can actually cause more harm than good to your body. Fragmented sleep causes you to feel more tired, sluggish, and less productive. Not to mention, it is worse for your overall mood and cognitive function. Therefore, instead of hitting the snooze button, I have been loving the fact that the sunrise alarm clock allows me to wake up gradually and peacefully!
Since our body’s circadian rhythm is affected by sunlight, using a sunrise-simulating alarm clock simply eases you awake. That way you wake up gradually and more refreshed! This alarm clock puts off a warm-glow light, that will turn on about thirty minutes before your set alarm and gradually brighten like a sunrise. Basically, the slow exposure to this light will help bring you into a lighter sleep stage, making it easier for you to wake up when your alarm goes off.
I 100% recommend this alarm clock to anyone who finds themselves hitting the snooze button 20x a morning! 🙃
3. Portable charger
Going off of #2, now that I have begun working at a school, I need to make sure my phone battery is charged at all times. And sometimes I never know if there is going to be an outlet accessible for me to use and plug my phone charger into. With that, I have been bringing my portable charger with me every single day just in case my phone battery starts to die. And I’ve literally had to use this guy every day when I’m substitute teaching!
This is why my portable charger made it into this month’s favorite post. I just charge it each night before I go to bed and I toss it into my bag each morning before work. It has become my must-have on-the-go necessity all of this month and I have no clue how I used to live without it!
Check out some of my other on-the-go necessities over in this blog post! 🤗
4. Heated blanket for the car
Speaking of on-the-go, if you drive yourself to work or class each morning, then you absolutely NEED to check out this next favorite of mine! Now that the weather is getting very cold, I have been loving my heated car blanket for every single trip to the store, to work, or to see my boyfriend who lives about 2 hours away at college. And it is the best car accessory ever made (in my opinion!) – especially for those who own a car without heated seats.
Luckily, this is the first car that I purchased with heated seats. However, my last car (and the other 2 before that) did not have them. So, to compensate, I bought myself a heated blanket last year instead – and I still use it today! Along with my heated seats lol! Plus anyone else who rides in my car always asks if they can use it every. single. time!
5. Oat milk snickerdoodle creamer
You all know how much I LOVE coffee! And usually, I prefer it with almond milk. However, if you remember from my September favorites post, I tried out oat milk lattes for the first time and I was hooked! Therefore, since September, I have been loving oat milk in my coffee and alternating between almond milk and oat milk each week. Currently, though, I found Snikerdoodle Oat Milk Creamer at Target for the holiday season and I was SO excited!
It’s by the brand So Delicious and it has the perfect subtle flavor of creamy cinnamon snickerdoodle that tastes incredible! Not to mention is it dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, and froths so easily for each morning’s delicious cup of coffee!
I hope you all enjoyed my 5 Friday favorites for November! 🧡
