Maybe there’s a purse you’ve been eyeing for a while now.You could also be like me and looking for a few more jeans or sweaters to add to your collection! Hey, it’s okay to splurge every now and again! With that, as a Valentine’s Day gift to myself, I’m definitely checking out some sales at Madewell or Free People lol!
5. Order take out & watch Netflix
Laid back evenings are the best!Chill out with your favorite Netflix showand order some takeout for the night. Nights like these are the best when you have food delivery apps like Doordash, Grubhub, or UberEats! No one wants to leave their house after settling in for the night, therefore, order yourself some take out and only get up off the couch when your food arrives! 😉
6. Read a few helpful self-care blog posts
Learning more about ways to care for yourself is a wonderful form of self love.Ever since I started writing my own self care and self love blog posts, I’ve noticed such animprovement in my self-confidence. It’s also been a lot easier for me to understand and manage my overall stress and anxiety. Aside from writing, I love reading other self care and mental health blogs.Self care looks different for everyone and it’s very personal. For this reason, it’s a good idea to read up on a variety of posts!
7. Create a self-love playlist
Music is an awesome way to relax after a long week!Since Valentine’s Day happens to fall on a Friday this year, you can enjoy a peaceful evening with your favorite songs!Browse through Spotify and create a long playlist full of your favorite songs! Or put together some of your favorite girl-boss songs if you’re having a Galentine’s party with your best girlfriends!
8. Buy yourself flowers
Brighten up your space with a beautiful bouquetof flowers. It doesn’t even have to be roses! Personally, I love sunflowers! And sunflowers are such a refreshing flower choice for February. That pop of yellow can add so much light your home!
9. Unplug & be present
While the internet and social media is fun, sometimes it can be exhausting. You may feel fatigued by looking at a screen at work or being on your phone throughout the day. Therefore, take the evening to simplybe in the moment. Do calming activities such as spending time nature (if you live in a warm place) or going for a relaxing drive!
10. Donate to a good cause or volunteer
Helping otherswill make you feel fulfilled and happy.Research different charities and donate what you can. Or you can simply volunteer your time at human societies, homeless shelters, or even your church! Also, encourage the people around you to donate as well!
11. Read a book at a coffee shop
Have a relaxing afternoon at your favorite local coffee shops.Don’t forget to order tasty snacks and bring a book you can’t put down! You’ll be surprised at how tranquil and relaxing the entire atmosphere and your afternoon will be!
12. Buy yourself your favorite latte
Sometimes your favorite latte can significantly boost your mood more than you thought! Therefore, drive to your favorite local coffee shop or even run through the Starbucks drive-thru and buy yourself your go-to favorite latte! My go-to Starbucks drink is definitely a skinny vanilla latte with almond milk!
Unfortunately, we don’t always speak kindly enough to ourselves. It’s crucial to talk to yourself kind, just as though you were speaking to a close friend or loved one.One way to help you do this is by reciting positive affirmations.Writing down affirmationscan help you increase your confidence and brightens your day.

16. Take yourself on a much-needed solo date
We all need me time every now and then.Take yourself out and recharge with a solo date!
Solo date ideas:
Take a drive and listen to relaxing or upbeat music
If you’re feeling bogged down, decluttering can help unwind and stay out of a winter rut. Clean up your space and add decorations that put you in a positive mood! For example, if you love the beach, you might add some ocean themed decor or paint your walls light blue!Shops like HomeGoods, Marshalls, Target, Kirklands, and TjMaxx all have amazingandaffordable home decor to turn your home into a self-love haven!
18. Brew some tea
Cuddle up with a blanket, favorite book or Netflix show, and cup of hot tea.The perfect beverage for a cold February morning or evening!
19. Create a dream board or G.Y.S.T binder
In a journal, write down alist of goals for the year. Afterwards, look on Pinterest buy a few magazines and cut out pictures and quotes thatinspire you. Hang up the dream board as a visual reminder of your goals! You could even create a smaller dream board and put it at the front of your G.Y.S.T (get your shit together) binder!
Lastly, if you’re feeling down, be sure to keep self care fun, relaxing, and simple! Unfortently, not every day is going to be wonderful – this is true even on a holiday. I’ve had holidays (whether it’s Valentine’s Day, Halloween, or Christmas) that weren’t eventful or fun.Maybe I felt either low on energy, sad, or anxious.
Down periods happen and it’s okay if you’re not feeling up to celebrating! The most important thing is to just take care of yourself. That comes first!Do simple things that feel good.Take a hot shower, go for a walk, or listen to your favorite song. Just know that everything is going to be okay and you WILL be happy again!
