5 Exciting Habits For A Healthy Fall

5 exciting habits for a healthy fall

Sharing is caring!

Fall is hands down my favorite season because there are sooooo many things to love about this time of year! The crisp morning air, the smell of fresh pumpkin bread, the leaves changing color, warm sweaters…what’s not to love?! 🧡 So, that is why I want to share my 5 favorite and exciting habits for a healthy fall, with you! Although it is currently September, fall is practically here. I want to help or inspire you to stay fit and healthy while enjoying the beauty of this season! So, let’s dive into my top favorite fall habits!

5 exciting habits for a healthy fall

1. Diffuse essential oils

In recent weeks, I have been diffusing a mix of essential oils blends that literally makes my house smell like a pumpkin patch! With a delicious mix of warm pumpkin spice and cinnamon in the air! The blend that I have been using is called “Cinnamon Spice,” and I found this essential oil blend recipe from Hello Glow. It’s the best blend that I have found for fall! But, you can click on her link and you will find four other amazing essential oil blends for fall that you can switch out and try for yourself!

The blend recipe for “Cinnamon Spice” that Stephanie, from Hello Glow, came up with is 2 drops of orange essential oil, 1 drop of cinnamon essential oil, 1 drop of clove essential oil, and 5 drops of vanilla essential oil. Diffusing this blend has made my entire house feel so warm and cozy. But even more importantly, by breathing in these essential oils, you are helping your overall wellness and immunity! Which is so crucial for this time of year in order for you to kiss future colds goodbye!

2. Make easy fall dinners

I don’t know what it is about the fall – maybe it’s the cooler weather – but I love to make heartier meals using seasonal fall foods! I literally use my crockpot nearly every day throughout the fall months because it makes things so easy, but still delicious. Hearty recipes like chili, chowder, soup, and stew have been my go-to’s, and they will continue to be my go-to’s as the weather starts getting colder. With that, I have been loving these four recipes that I am dying to share with you!

Creamy Cauliflower Chowder:

I can’t believe how much I actually loved this recipe! I’m not a big cauliflower fan but this soup was so delicious and easy to make! Not to mention, it is very filling and perfect for a hearty fall dinner. I made this for my boyfriend a couple of times already and he loves it as well! P.S: To make this recipe vegan, you could always sub out the cheese for some shredded sweet potato! It actually gives the soup even more flavor! 😉

Sweet Potato & Black Bean Chili:

I absolutely love anything with sweet potato! (As you may have noticed above lol!) And this recipe did not disappoint! I love being able to put all of the ingredients together in the crockpot, go about my day, and come back within 5 hours to this tasty meal ready to enjoy!

Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup

What would the cooler months be without chicken noodle soup once a week? This chicken noodle soup recipe is definitely the best one that I have tried! It’s pretty much hassle-free and it’s so easy to prepare! I can definitely see myself making this once a week in the fall, if not twice a week!

Fall Harvest Stew

Last but not least, this fall favorite recipe has been a staple for years! It is the quintessential fall recipe that I’m sure everyone would enjoy! This fall harvest stew recipe is perfect for an entire family or to save as leftover lunches/dinners for your work week! Which is great for those who enjoy meal prepping, but don’t have a ton of time. This recipe is very rich and comforting that is incorporated with plenty of unique spices and fall vegetables.

Each of these four recipes that I listed are absolutely perfect for those chilly fall days! 🍂

3. Get sneaky with your greens

Around this time of year is when I find myself less drawn to salads or cold smoothies and more drawn to warmer, heartier meals like mentioned above. That being said, finding sneaky ways to fit my greens in for the day has been an exciting task. Whether it be tossing some spinach into my egg white scramble or baking some kale with the Trader Joe’s: Everything But The Bagel Seasoning (my new fav recipe!) Use this time year to be extra creative and get those greens in!

Or, you can even add in some zucchini or even riced cauliflower (not green – but still a veggie) into your oatmeal! I have even added it to my overnight oats! I know, I know, but trust me you cannot taste it! Take this from a girl who honestly isn’t the biggest veggie eater! I’ve also made these delicious pancakes that actually have spinach in them! And I promise you they were absolutely delicious and you could not taste the spinach at all! Perfect for the kiddos as well!

4. Take evening walks

It’s probably the beautiful leaves changing color or the cooler temperatures that are my two motivators for going on evening walks lately. And I am perfectly okay with that! There is nothing like a brisk walk after dinner breathing in that fresh, chilly air. It’s revitalizing and distressing all at the same time! Going for a walk after dinner also helps aid in healthy digestion. All in all, walking really helps to calm my mind and soul. Especially on a cool, autumn evening. I find that just getting out in the last bit of daylight really allows me to unwind for the evening and fall asleep more peacefully. Give it a try, and I know you will FALL in love with this healthy and exciting habit too! 😉

5. Stop the stress

You know that popular fall quote “Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go”…well it is so true, my friend! I know we are getting closer and closer to the end of the year, and maybe that makes you feel anxious like you didn’t reach the goals that you had set for yourself last January. Or, maybe your schedule is so full that lately your goals have been put on the backburner. (I feel you there!) Whatever season you are in right now, take time to enjoy THIS season. Yes, Fall, the beautiful leaves, delicious foods,  and the changing weather. But even more so, the season that yourself is currently in and going through. Maybe you feel like you’re not growing as fast as you would like or things aren’t changing as quickly as they “should.” (Isn’t that such an underrated crappy word?) Instead, be encouraged today that this exact season of your life has a purpose.

Remember, every seed dies before it grows. Do not be afraid of being planted and don’t be afraid of the stretching during the growth. It is all for good purpose, and that is how you essentially flourish! The change is for purpose. So, regardless of your circumstances, remember something good always comes out of something bad! There are a time and season for everything under the sun. So let go of those burdens and weights that you have been holding on to. Remind yourself that you have to be willing to close one door in order to see another open! ✨🍂

Remember to stop and take time to appreciate the little things in life! Especially in the fall! Because there are so many things to be grateful for during the autumn season! 🧡
