5 Must-Haves For The Busy Girl On-The-Go

5 essentials for the busy girl-on-the-go

Sharing is caring!

As soon as I hit my twenties, I noticed that my life became busier and busier! Mainly because I felt as though I could handle more and more, so I kept adding as much as I possibly could to my weekly calendar. I kid you not, last fall, for example, I was working three jobs, volunteering once a week, going to school part-time, and had just started dating my boyfriend. And honestly, I literally have no idea how I managed to handle all of the chaos.

Although I am not as busy this year as I was last year, I still find myself running from place to place without stopping home in between. This means, my bag and my car need to have everything necessary in order for me to survive my busy day with as little stress as possible. So with that, here are my 5 essentials for the fellow busy girl on the go!

items every woman should have in her car

1. Mini car “emergency” kit

A mini car “emergency” kit is probably the most important and most used item that I keep in my car at all times. However, I do want to mention that this bag that I keep in my car isn’t your generic emergency kit. But, if you are a busy girl on the go, then you will appreciate having this little bag of beauty + hygiene essentials with you whenever you may need them! Everyone’s mini car “emergency” kit is going to look different.

Therefore, what you decide to put in your mini-emergency kit is entirely up to you. Fill your little, on-the-go bag with items that are essential to you or what you think you may need just in case!

Here are the items I recommend every busy girl on the go to carry in her purse or keep in her car. These are also the items I choose to keep in my car or purse at all times:

car and purse must haves

  • Mini deodorant (I use this all-natural, non-toxic deodorant!) You can also use the coupon code CM10 for 10% off!!
  • Mints or gum
  • Mini hand sanitizer
  • Hydrating lip balm (I LOVE this one!)
  • Mini perfume
  • Tampons or pads
  • Hair ties + bobby pins
  • Contact solution + case (if you wear contacts)
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste or Colgate wisps (in case you spend the night somewhere or forget in the morning)

2. Face blotting sheets

I’m not usually one to carry makeup with me as I am driving around town for the day. I’m not sure why, but I just don’t like carrying an extra makeup bag with me or even bringing my daily makeup essentials with me in the car. Because I’m typically one to keep things in my car afterward or lose them! 🤦‍♀️Unless it’s a mini-sized mascara or extra lipgloss that I have lying around.

However, because of this, I love to keep face-blotting sheets in my car or in my purse at all times! There are many days out of the week where I am driving nearly 200+ miles around the state of Michigan, lol. And if you’re someone who is also driving and running around like a maniac all day, then you know how quickly sweat and oil can show up on your face. Especially during those hot and humid days of Spring and Summer.

So, if you’re in the same boat as me, face blotting sheets will be a game-changer and your new lifesaver! They instantly get rid of the oil/shine and have your skin back to looking as fresh as it did when you left your house in the morning! Not to mention, they’re super cheap and easy to keep in your car or on-the-go bag!

3. Coffee to go

This one is a must for me! There are numerous mornings when I don’t have enough time to sit down and enjoy breakfast, but coffee will always be a priority for me. And since my job has me running around a lot, and since I am also a part-time substitute teacher at the moment, I don’t like to carry a reusable mug. It takes up a lot of space in my bag, gets lost in the back of my car, and not to mention, it can build up bacteria throughout the day.

Instead, I pour my coffee into a recyclable to-go cup, like these biodegradable and compostable ones! They are convenient and come with lids so I can grab them and go in the morning. Plus, I don’t have to worry about it all day and I can recycle it when I am done!

4. Portable charger

This is a must for any busy girl on the go There is nothing worse than getting to work, a coffee shop, or a class and realizing that your phone battery is almost dead. So, I finally decided to order a basic portable charger online and it has been a game-changer! It’s perfect for your everyday routine, while you’re traveling, and it’s easy to throw in any bag.

5. Healthy snacks

5 essentials for the busy girl-on-the-go

Healthy on-the-go snacks are a MUST when you are busy and don’t have time to run home and make yourself a meal. Not to mention, keeping snacks on you at all times decreases your chances of spontaneously running through a quick fast-food drive-thru. Snacking throughout my day has become a part of my everyday routine, and I can honestly say that it keeps me more satisfied and less hungry than relying on bigger meals.

My healthy snack choices change throughout the week, however, I have currently been snacking on trial mix, overnight oats, and/or fruit for most of the days. Simply because they are easy to pack and keep in my car, but also because they keep me full and satisfied all day long! Plus, you can’t forget coffee + kombucha for a long ride in the car as well! 😉

Love this list! I’m definitely juggling too much still, so I can use all the help I can get haha. My favorite idea on this list is the face blotting sheets – goodness knows we all could use them to touch up during a long work day!
