Happy Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful week and a beautiful day! I seriously can’t believe how quick June has flown by, it feels like it was just the beginning of May. However, I am really looking forward to July and the upcoming trips I have planned with my friends and family! Along with that, I am so pumped for this upcoming Fourth of July next week! Do you have any plans for next week? I know many of us here in the U.S may not be able to celebrate like we usually do; although some places have been opening back up. Regardless, I hope you are able to make the best of it!
With that, let’s get into the post! Today, I am sharing my 5 Friday favorites for the month of June with you! These favorites are so random but, these are the 5 things I have probably been loving and using pretty much every single day the most this past month!
1. Tie-dye sweatshirt and joggers set
These past few weeks I have been living in this tie-dye set from KreativeKatsDesignCo on Etsy! It is the absolute perfect color and style and has been so comforting in recent weeks! I know tie-dye is having a moment right now and I didn’t think I would jump on the bandwagon. But here I am haha! Therefore, I just had to share what I think is the best set out there right now and how much I have been loving this comfy outfit!
2. Protein overnight oat recipe
Okay, so I know I mentioned the base of this recipe in my latest post, however, I had to mention here as well because I have been making it so much recently! Personally, I love overnight or chilled oatmeal in the summertime as opposed to warm oatmeal. This is why this recipe has become such a staple in my diet this past couple of weeks! Plus, it’s packed with protein, fiber, and healthy fats which help to keep you full longer and your metabolism revved up for the day! Here is the recipe for the overnight oats!
-
1/3 cup of Quaker rolled oats
-
2 scoops of unflavored collagen protein (mix well!)
-
1/2 tsp. of cinnamon
-
1/2 tsp. of pumpkin pie spice (optional)
-
Pinch of sea salt
-
1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract
-
Chia seeds and shredded coconut flakes (both optional)
-
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
-
Top with a drizzle of honey
-
Mix together and let it sit in the fridge for as little as a half-hour to as long as overnight!
*Note: You can make this oatmeal hot or cold! It tastes great either way! For how I make the warm version, check out this post!
3. Bike rides
Lately, my friend Shana and I have made it a weekly habit to go on evening bike rides at a Metropark near my house by Lake Erie. Additionally, my friend Grace and I have also been going on bike rides through paths near her house on nights that Shana and I don’t go together. This has become my favorite evening activity at the moment!
It’s such a great activity to do while catching up with my close friends and enjoying the outdoors. I have never been more thankful for my close friends as I have these past few weeks! While going through a breakup and after spending months not being able to see them, I have never been happier!
4. New shoes
So recently, I have been doing a lot of retail therapy and just trying to treat myself more often than I’m usually used to. And one of my favorite purchases that I’ve made in the past couple of weeks has been these Adidas NMD’s! I’ve been wearing the same pair of black Nike’s for literally two years and I have been wanting to get a new pair of workout shoes, but never got around to doing so.
Plus, when it comes to spending money on shoes, I usually don’t like to waste my money on tennis shoes or gym shoes. I don’t know why haha. However, when I saw these I immediately purchases them! I have gotten tons of compliments when wearing them out and they are very comfortable for working out in. So whether you are wearing them to the grocery store or wearing them to the gym, I highly recommend these shoes!
5. Little diffuser for my car
This is so extra and impulsive of me, but when I saw this little diffuser from Shein, I just had to get it haha. It’s technically a humidifier, but I’ve been using it as a diffuser for essential oils in my car instead since it’s so small and it fits in my cup holder. However, it works surprisingly very well and it’s very strong for a humidifier or diffuser. Not to mention, it’s only $6 so what’s not to love?!
I hope you have a great rest of your week, my friend!
P.S: If you try out the overnight oat recipe let me know what you think!
