Happy Monday, my friend! I hope you are having a great start to your day and week! The other week, I posted about my updated self-love inspired morning routine, and I thought I would share my nighttime routine as well for this week’s post! Lately, I have been really focused on incorporating a lot of healthy, de-stressing, and self-care inspired habits into my updated nighttime routine. So far, I have been loving them! Before I began adding these habits back into my routine, (I kind of slipped up a few months ago haha) I noticed that I was incredibly tired, irritable, and lacking motivation when I would wake up each day. However, this self-love inspired nighttime routine has really been helping me!
With that, read on for my very favorite self-care products and the habits I have been incorporating to make this nighttime routine relaxing and centered around self-love and self-care!
8:00 pm:
This is typically when I start to shut down my computer and turn my phone on airplane mode or on silent. The next step on my routine is my favorite: taking a hot bath! Now, if you really want to relax, you need to try this softening and soothing Flower Bath salts from Primally Pure! It is made with organic essential oils of lavender and geranium to help heal the skin and to relax the body and mind.
Plus, the Flower Bath contains an aromatic and skin-softening blend of soothing botanicals that repair damaged and/or inflamed skin, balance pH levels, and detoxify the skin and body! I have never felt more relaxed than after a bath with these bath salts! Not to mention, the lavender scent creates a very tranquil atmosphere that’s perfect for a self-care spa night! Along with this, as soon as I step out of the bath I then apply my current favorite body lotion. It is the Body Complex from iS Clinical and I have been using it nonstop to help prevent any breakouts or dry skin all over my body!
8:45 pm:
After a really nice, relaxing bath, I then start my skincare routine! My skincare routine is pretty much the same every single night, but on nights that I really want to pamper myself, I add in some “extras,” including a facial massage! Sounds super luxurious, doesn’t it haha? The best part is though, it’s not very expensive! After cleansing my face with my iS Clinical Cleansing Complex and using either a rose quartz facial roller or this detoxifying Gua Sha stone, I do a quick facial massage on myself with my current favorite moisturizer also from iS Clinical. I haven’t been using this moisturizer for very long, however, I have noticed an insane difference in the texture and hydration levels of my skin! The trick with each of these tools is to always massage your face upward and outward, and never down.
But you may be wondering, what’s the difference between the facial roller and a gua sha? Both products work well and feel really nice on your skin: the facial roller is easier to use and requires less time, but the gua sha stone goes a little deeper to release muscle tension and is so effective it’s been called “natural botox” for your face! Amazing right?! All in all, both tools increase some level of lymphatic drainage in the face, which can temporarily reduce swelling.
9:00 pm:
After I am done with skincare, I then move on to my teeth and my hair. Honestly, this step is pretty basic and boring, so I’ll just break it down really quickly. Lately, I have been opting to braid my hair each night to help prevent any damage or breakage to my hair since I used to always throw it up into a tight bun every night. Plus, the braids typically last for the next day while I’m working out or they add more dimension to my natural waves when I undo the braid in the morning. Or, if I don’t braid my hair, I simply throw it up into a loose ponytail with one of my silk scrunchies! They are the best, gentle scrunchies for keeping your hair healthy while in a cute pony or bun!
After this, I grab my electric toothbrush (I have the pink one, of course!) and brush my teeth. Pretty self-explanatory haha. However, one thing I do now that I’ve neglected for so long is flossing every single night and using mouth wash. Lastly, the next thing I do is take out my contacts and put on my glasses.
9:15 pm:
Once my contacts are out, it usually signals my brain right away that it’s almost time for bed. With that, I’ll then head downstairs to fill my water bottle for the remainder of the night and into the next morning. I also like to make myself a cup of delicious peppermint tea as well if I’m not too tired. Peppermint tea is an excellent sleep aid and it hydrates your body. In fact, peppermint tea is essential for those who have digestive problems or if you have an upset stomach when trying to fall asleep. Also, it contains zero caffeine so it won’t keep you up all night! I mention this more in my how to create the perfect night routine post as well!
9:30 pm:
After grabbing my water and my tea, I then head back to my bedroom and get ready for bed. This time of the night is a little different each evening, but I usually like to read a chapter or two of whatever book I’m currently reading or I like to watch a quick Youtube video. No matter which one I choose, I prefer to be in bed by at least 9:30/10 pm. I know, I sound so old haha! But I normally wake up around 5 or 6 am, so an early bedtime is essential for my health and productivity the following day. Plus, going to bed early is crucial for my overall mood and energy levels for the next morning as well!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post, my friend! Also, I’d love to hear if you have any self-care routines or specific products that make you feel pampered!
Until next time, have a beautiful day!
xo, Cydney
