5 Simple & Practical Ways To Treat Yourself This Week

5 simple & practical ways to treat yourself

Sharing is caring!

As many of us are stuck at home, or not able to go back to our normal routines just yet, I’m realizing the importance of providing myself with small and easy indulgences whenever I can. Not only because self-care is very essential to our overall well-being, but because simple and practical forms of self-care can also relieve stress and anxiety. I know that many of us at-home may still be working or taking online classes for school, therefore, finding the time to indulge in any self-care practices may still be a challenge, even though you’re home all day. So with that, I want to focus on 5 simple & practical ways to treat yourself this week to promote wellness and to make life more enjoyable on a day to day basis!

5 simple & practical ways to treat yourself

1. Create a sensible, energizing morning routine

If you know me, then you know that I am 100% a morning person! However, I wasn’t always this way, and I know how hard it can be to truly establish a habitual morning routine that is also practical for your everyday life. Especially if you have children or leave early in the morning for work. However, a morning routine is something worth shooting for or trying out! In fact, research has shown that successful people tend to have fairly established morning routines. Plus, it leads to a more productive day as well!

Now, this doesn’t have to mean waking up at the crack of dawn to go on a 6-mile run followed by a gourmet breakfast and completing 3 loads of laundry haha. It can be something as simple as taking 10 minutes to read a devotion or do some journaling while enjoying a cup of coffee or lemon water. Personally, I love to take a few minutes for myself in the morning. It really helps to put me in a more productive and energized mindset, rather than waking up and having to hurry around my house to get ready for the day.

2. Go for a walk

These days, it’s easy to hibernate inside when all we can really do is shop for groceries and interact with friends/family over FaceTime or Zoom without ever getting off the couch. But when we spend too much time cooped up indoors, we deprive ourselves of immune-boosting and mood-elevating Vitamin D and the fresh air our skin and spirit crave! To stick with the morning routine theme from my first tip, I love to wake up early and take my dogs on a quick mile-long walk around our neighborhood.

Not only is it a great exercise for me and my dogs, but it helps to calm my brain before I begin my day. Additionally, I have been listing to podcasts while I’m walking as well. Now that I don’t drive as much anymore, I stopped listening to my podcasts. So, this has been a great way to catch up on my favorite podcasts (Crime Junkie, The Girl’s Bathroom, For The Girl, etc.)and start my day in an energizing, positive way!

3. Diffuse your favorite essential oils

I’m always blown away by how much of a mood-boosting difference essential oils can make when diffused in the home or workspace! Especially now that I have been keeping my diffuser at my desk and keeping it on as I’m working.

Some of my go-to’s oils are definitely citrus and lavender! Citrus essential oils are especially uplifting and can even help to purify the air. Lavender is very soothing and can help to promote good sleep. Essential oils have so many amazing properties and diffusing the right one at the right time can bring much-needed relief and happiness!

4. Take a bath

Baths are probably my favorite simple & practical way of self-care and treating myself! There honestly nothing that helps to melt away the stress of the day – while simultaneously soothing sore muscles and detoxing the body – like a nice warm bath.

The Primally Pure Sea Soak (detoxifies and soothes) and Flower Bath (softens and balances skin) are perfect for promoting relaxation after a long day. They also make great gifts! And if you’re an avid bath taker like me, the Spa Kit may be your new best friend! It contains samples of our Sea Soak and Flower Bath along with a dry brush (which helps to stimulate the lymphatic system and enhance blood circulation). It also comes with a travel-size body oil to moisturize and revitalize the skin post-bath! It’s perfect to go along with my last and final tip for treating yourself at home!

5. Indulge in a mini at-home facial

Bring the spa to your home with an easy DIY face mask made with common household ingredients! Some of my favorites include a lemon & honey mask (lemon brightens skin tone and honey has antibacterial properties) or try a melted coconut oil & coffee grind mask (coconut oil nourishes skin while coffee enlivens and invigorates the complexion). Or, if you’re looking for a store-bought mask that I recommend, I highly suggest the Primally Pure Soothing Face Mask! It contains numerous powerful ingredients such as spirulina and chlorella, which both help the skin maintain moisture, minimize redness/sensitivities, detoxify, and rebuild the overall health of the skin! Plus they contain powerful antioxidants and minerals to significantly decrease inflammation and support healthy cell function!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post, and that you’ll find joy through incorporating these tips into your daily life!
