Happy Friday, my friends! I cannot believe that it is almost June. I seriously have no idea where this month went, but here I am sharing my 5 Friday favorites for May with you! Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy today’s short and sweet blog post! Plus, let me know what some of your favorites have been for this past month. Have you found any new hobbies or items that you’ve been loving this month? I would love to know! Other than that, let’s get into the post!
1. New desk
This past week, I decided to give my small workspace a little “glow-up.” For starters, I decided to purchase an affordable desk from Ikea, since I didn’t want to spend too much on a new desk. Plus, I knew that I wanted to spray paint the legs of this desk rose gold! Therefore, just in case I messed up, I didn’t want to be upset about wasting a ton of money haha. However, I LOVE the way it turned out! It matches my cute rose gold 3-Tier rolling cart from Michaels perfectly!
For my desk, I decided on the Ikea Alex Computer Desk (in White). It wasn’t too hard to put together either, but I do recommend having another person help towards the end when you’re putting it together. Additonally, I bought 2 cans of rose gold spray paint at my local Lowe’s and got the Krylon Fusion brand for only about 6 or 7 dollars. For someone who has never spray-painted anything, it wasn’t hard at all! Altogether, it took me about 2 days to finish everything, but honestly, I could’ve done it all in one day if I had started early in the morning. It was such a cute, little DIY project that I wanted to try out to brighten up my workspace and I’m so happy that I did! Let me know what you think!
2. Morning walk + podcasts
Lately, I’ve been waking up a bit earlier and taking my dogs on a quick, mile-long walk around our neighborhood. I mention this in last Monday’s blog post but not only is walking such great exercise for me and my dogs, but it helps to calm my brain before I begin my day. Plus, walking has become the perfect warmup before my morning workouts as well!
Additionally, I have been listing to podcasts while I’m walking as well. Now that I don’t drive as much anymore, I stopped listening to my podcasts. So, this has been a great way to catch up on my favorite podcasts (Crime Junkie, The Girl’s Bathroom, For The Girl, etc.), and start my day in an energizing, positive way!
3. No Cow Bars
I mentioned in my last Friday Favorite’s Post how I’ve had to go dairy and gluten-free to help heal my gut and current health issues. Therefore, I’ve been incorporating No Cow Protein Bars back into my diet. Not every day, of course, but about 3 times a week to make sure I’m hitting my protein goals. Especially if I’m extra busy one day, these protein bars are a life-saver! Plus, not only are No Cow Bars gluten and dairy-free, but they are vegan and they taste incredible. They are not dry or very chewy like many protein bars on the market. I highly recommended these if you’re either struggling to hit your protein goals each day, live a very busy/active lifestyle & need something quick on-the-go or if you are vegan and/or have any food sensitivities!
4. Iced coffee with collagen
Now that it has been getting warmer and I’ve been spending more time outside, I’ve definitely been craving iced coffee more than I typically would. And this simple, iced coffee recipe has become my new go-to for the past several weeks! All that’s included in my iced coffee recipe is the Starbucks medium roast iced coffee, unsweetened cashew milk, Silk oat milk creamer, and 1 scoop of Vital Protein unflavored collagen to add in some extra, easy protein!
5. Loving Tan self-tanner
Although we are still practicing social distancing, for the most part, there’s something about putting on self-tanner that makes me feel 10x better haha! Plus, we currently opened up our pool and have been spending a lot more time outside. Therefore, I’ve been breaking out the Loving Tan 2-Hour Express Self-Tanner (in Dark)about once a week or once every other week. It is my all-time favorite self-tanner that doesn’t have that exaggerated self-tan fragrance or leaves streaks. But, I think the Loving Tan applicator mitt is what does the trick at leaving absolutely no streaks! Also, if you’re interested in knowing how I apply this self-tanner, definitely check out this blog post where I list out how I self-tan each time in order! 🤗
Thank you for reading this month’s Friday favorites post! I hope you enjoyed it and please let me know what some of your favorites have been!
