Hey there, my friend! Let me start off by telling you something that I hope brings innovation and motivation to your entire week…
The biggest superpower that you can have as a human being is confidence!
If you have confidence and if you believe in yourself, you can do anything! You have the courage to do anything! Therefore, today I want to share the 5 tips that I use whenever I’m feeling a little insecure or not as confident. Now, these 5 little tips aren’t super deep. But I just wanted to share with you something that will help get you closer to feeling that confident and empowering feeling! These 5 hacks will immediately boost your confidence and really help to bring you out of that discouraging feeling if you currently feel like you’re in a funk! 💫 I’m telling you, my friend, it works every time! And I want it to work the same for you!
I know some of these may seem funny or silly. Please know that these tips don’t take away from how difficult the work can be to really achieve that abiding confidence and self-love. That’s more long-term work. But I do have some helpful blog posts that I will link to help you start working on that long-lasting effect and boosting/building your confidence in the long-term!
Nonetheless, these are the 5 things that I do when I know I’m feeling down on myself and I know I either have to be high energy, I want to have a good day, or I just want to feel better overall, these are the 5 things I do to achieve that instant confidence! ⚡️
1. Look The Part
Now, I know this may seem a little shallow, but it’s not. I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, “look good, feel good,” right? Well, it is so true! This has been a useful tool of mine ever since middle school I believe, haha. Specifically, in high school, I remember I would always have my hair curled, my makeup was always done, my outfit would be put together, etc. And that’s just the way I was and the way I am to this day. I know that I feel my best when I am put together, when I’m confident with my outfit, when I’m wearing things that feel comfortable to me/that I feel good in, and when my hair/makeup is done. That’s just how I’ve always been.
With that, I notice that when I don’t put that effort in, I just feel like crap.
I tend to feel less motivated and productive. But here’s the thing…I don’t get ready or put myself together for anyone but myself! The only one I’m trying to impress is myself! I’m fully aware that I’m not going to go anywhere where I need to impress anyone (I work at a high school, haha). But I feel my best when I pull it together, I feel confident, and I feel comfortable.
But it might be different for you! If you feel the most confident when you’re wearing the cutest activewear, the trendiest sweats, or a business suit, or anything…that is up to you and what YOU feel confident in! But figure it out and pull that out when you need it! Or just start your day every day with that! If you’re someone who likes to hit the snooze button, that can take away time that you would normally have to get ready.
Instead of maybe curling your hair, taking a shower, or putting on some makeup you’re rushing and throwing your hair in a bun and you just feel frantic and uncomfortable all day. Of course, that is going to dictate your mood! So take care of yourself, take some time for yourself, and present yourself in a way that makes you feel good and rock it!
2. Listen To Music
Listen to your favorite type of music and whatever playlist gets you pumped up and feeling happy! For me, this tip works the quickest when it comes to confidence! For example, if I’m going to be teaching a difficult lesson one day, or if I have to go to a meeting I’m nervous about, or if I have to teach over Zoom or anything that leaves me feeling nervous or anxious, I make myself play my favorite music and I blare it, haha!
Personally, I love starting my mornings with one of my go-to playlists and listening to it/dancing to it in my kitchen while I’m making coffee or making my breakfast. And that’s because it not only brings me confidence, but it brings me energy! I’ve had days where I’ve woken up and felt sluggish and unmotivated, and if I just play my favorite songs and dance it out it is an instant energy boost and instant confidence boost! Don’t knock ’till you try it, haha!
3. Own Your Body Language
This is a new one for me and something that I’m trying to really work on and remind myself to do on a daily basis because this is such a little thing, but it really goes a long way. Take a moment right now to think about how you enter a room and how you speak to people. Think about how you stand, how you look at others, etc. And trust me, my friend, I’m totally guilty of talking fast and mumbling just so I can hurry up and finish saying what I need to say.
Not to mention, I often found myself hunching over and not making very good eye contact, or just not being very energetic. I’m very guilty of all of those things. But ever since, I’ve been trying to really be aware of my posture and how I present myself, oh my goodness it’s crazy how I’ve changed!
So for instance, instead of hunching over, set your shoulders back (I wish I could show you but hopefully you get the point lol), look forward, and have your chest out. Think of it as you’re opening up your body to the world, open it up so that all of the good energy can come in! People tell how confident you are (or aren’t) and how well you present yourself just by how you enter a room! So take a moment to try that out this week! Enter a room and really be conscious of how you are presenting yourself! It sounds so dramatic, but allow yourself to really make an entrance!
Additionally, when you talk to someone, look at them right in their eyes and smile, and talk clearly and concisely. You’d be surprised how empowered and confident it makes you feel! I know it might sound silly, but give it shot!
4. Move Your Body
The next tip I have to instantly boost your confidence is to work out, move your body, and sweat. This will do you wonders! Working out and moving your body of course gives you endorphins, but for me, endorphins translate directly into confidence! I could be feeling so bad about myself and the second after I’m done working out… I feel energized, I feel motivated, and I feel great overall.
It does wonders for your confidence and your mental health as a whole, not just physical health. Even just after one workout, your mentality, your mood, everything, is going to stronger, and more clear, and more confident!
5. Pass Out A Compliment
I know you might be thinking, “wait, how is that going to make me feel better about myself?” Honestly, I don’t have an answer for you, it is just a fact that every single time I compliment a stranger or compliment anyone in general, I instantly get that gratification right back at me! It’s like a boomerang.
I think it’s because it feels good to be kind to other people and it feels good to boost their day/their mood and it gets thrown right back at you! I promise, whatever you give out is going to come right back at you! It’s going to be good for someone else and it’s also going to be good for you! 💛
I hope found this post helpful my friend! Let me know what you thought and if you will try out any of these 5 hacks to boost your confidence! 🤗
Have a beautiful day!
